This 1955 Chevy Nomad was sold on eBay as a "no rust" car. At this point we were well into dismantling the Nomad for a frame off build. I stopped to take pictures when our customer informed me he bought this as a No Rust car. However our customer decided not to contest the sale "as he may wish to do business with the gentleman again". I'll never understand that statement, but the customer is always right. The Nomad did come in looking clean, fresh primer fancy wheels... but many shops don't take their cars down to the metal. This one was already looking grim.
Removing the interior and cobbled floor board patches began to reveil a picture none to pretty. There was little here and even fewer places you could step without putting your foot through the floorboards.
Mostly down to metal at this point you can see the true devastation this car has faced.
The Rear Quarters are junk, the tailgate smashed from an old accident. Even the roof is rotted, lace clear around the driprail. The car that looked easily worth the 3K Dock paid for her was reduced to a piece of junk not worth hauling off to the scrap yard. If she weren't a Nomad, such would have been her fate. However a testament she remains as to the truths of true salesmanship, the kind of truths that gives salesmen a bad name.
