Jaguar has long been a sex symbol, the Luxury Sports Car. Jaguar has both ride and style added atop pure brute power, a perfect combination equaled by none. The first Jaguar was produced in 1935, although its origins go back to the side car company formed by William Lyons and William Walmsley in 1922. The Swallow Sidecar Company began building cars as the Swallow Sidecar and Coachbuilding Company in 1926 and changing it's name again in 1931 to SS Cars Ltd. The company itself did not assume the name Jaguar until 1946, a result of a rather undesirable new meaning haven been given to SS in WWII. By 1948 Jaguar had produced the fastest car built, the XK 120, acclaimed to do 120 mph.The prototype had actually been clocked at 133mph at the Earls Court Motor Show in front of an unbelieving crowd, and press; suddenly Jaguar could not meat the demand for it's new car.
 
Of course on a good note of mention the Earls Court Motor Show use to be well known for auto makers draping their cars with nude women to show how sexy their car was. This practice is no longer the case in England, but it still remains in much of the civilized world, except in the USA of course.
