The Jaguar XKE in this PhotoArt is of the NudeAutoMall's own Private collection, a 1966 Series 1. The girl in the sky, the NudeAutoMall's own Blossom. Nothing in the photo is real of course, girls don't float in the sky, just in our dreams; and the XKE was never at this location.
The Jaguar XKE was born in 1961 as easily the sexists and most prestigious sports car ever built. The Jaguar XKE has it's roots and borrowed most of her looks from the racing D-Type Jaguar. But the Jaguar XKE was built for the road. Long sleek and powerful, the perfect air foil. In the dawn of the Muscle Car Error Jaguar brought something different to the table, performance with finesse. Where Muscle Cars were basically over powered, big motors in cars that were too small to handle them, which took a lot of skill just to keep them under control at top speeds and during acceleration. The XKE was built instead with the ideal that anyone should be able to control those speeds with ease. Jaguar took aerodynamics, suspension, steering, and breaking to near perfection to achieve a very controllable sports car. Jaguar didn't shoe in, they designed the car around the motor, a little 3.8 liter six cylinder that gave everything a run for it's money. The XKE could achieve 150mph comfortably, without the feeling of driving on the edge, and with a very beautiful car that gave you 20 mpg. The XKE was an instant success selling way more cars than they could build rapidly leaving almost a year waiting list. But hand built cars never happen fast, and American Muscle began to compete, lowering their center of gravity, changing their air foil, and rethinking their suspension. Still Jaguar was King, Exotic, it would take laws to kill the XKE. The first wave of laws were safety laws, adding so much weight to the XKE that Jaguar had to up the engine to 4.2 liter, taking the first big byte out of fuel mileage and a small byte out of performance. Second and almost deadly, getting worse each year was the EPA laws taking the XKE from three carberators down to two, as well as adding a lot of weight and horse power eaters with all of these required gadgets. Lucas saved the day for a moment with their introduction of electronic ignition in the late sixties. But the regulations mounted, doom lingering on the ever nearing horizon, when Jaguar countered with the V12. No other production car sported a V12, and orders, although still on that waiting list flourished anew. But Legislature then threw a one two punch that would be the death of the Big Cat. First and most ironically was the Gas Guzzler Tax increasing the XKE's price tag almost twenty percent, and suddenly Jaguar found themselves overstocked with XKE's instead of oversold (The XKE with twice the engine was slower and less responsive averaging only 10 mpg due to all of the regulations of the same car that use to achieve 150 mph and 20 mpg). Then came the crash tests, the XKE did not fare well when slammed into a concrete block wall, pay no heed that the XKE was the most likely car to steer out of it and avoid the crash all together, regardless the XKE was dead.
The XKE did not lack in their use of girl in advertisement, in fact it would be much harder to find an XKE Ad without a girl in the Ad then an XKE Ad sporting a beautiful young lady.
In the tradition of the NudeAutoMall you will find these beautiful e-Type Jaguar adorned with beautiful naked ladies. And of course if you own a Jaguar yourself, and have a pretty little lady to go with your Jag we would love to see your Jag on the NudeAutoMall.
