1964, the last year for the big cat, GM had not managed to "out build" the XKE with all the great improvements in the 63 Corvette, so GM turned to government, the beginning of the long string of litigation that killed the Cat and eventually her lessor predecessors. The XKE was still faster, more agile, cheaper, and more fuel efficient. This is the Jaguar XKE Series I.
