The name MoPar originated in the late 30's, from Chrysler consolidating their various parts divisions into one, Chrysler Corporation MOtor PARts Division, there after named MoPar.
 
How the name became synonymous with Chrysler Products in general is probably lost to history. But, I can just imagine some Old Moonshiner in the Hey Days of Hot Rodding... Billy Boy Jim Bob, I'm going to beat your ass today. Ya know why I'm going to beat your ass today Billy Boy Jim Bob?
