3D Flames, These 3 Dimentional Hand Hamared Flames are one of the common themes of jb's Custom Hot Rods. 3D Flames are not unique, as many roll or press them out of aluminium, or basicaly beer can steel. Many 3D Flames are quit shallow, others nice and pernounced, but when 3D Flames are hand hammered they can be layed in the thicker sheet metal typicaly used in the making of autobody panels by auto manifactures. Also 3D Flames that are hammered out by hand become unique by their verry nature of being made by hand. Thus hand hammered 3D Flames become a unique touch to any hot rod.

Each flame of a 3D Flame panel takes on average 10 hours to hammer out. There is about 30 to 40 hours in each door of the 38 Chevy, and about 50 to 60 hours in the side skin of the 36 Plymouth. Yes special tools are used, hand made hand tools made by jb, you can't get much more special then that. So what is the charge for a 3D Flame Job? Well there is no pattern, no press, so this is not simple. Basicaly it boils down to how involved are the flames and the panels they are being made for or from. The price for 3D Flames simply has to be based on your individual preferences.
