1926 Buick

1926 Buick

This old Buick is a good candidate for restoration, with very little damaging rust, and most of her pieces there, she has a good beginning. Being that she is from 1926 she is old enough to be worth restoring mostly by that fact alone; add to it that she is a Landau Coupe, just makes her more worth the investment.

The biggest problem with the 20's GM cars was that they were still mainly coach built, that is made of wood with a skin of tin. You can see here that the termites remind us why wood is indeed their favorite meal. Fortunately there is enough left to get a good ideal of what it is suppose to look like

A new frame for the old trunk. Not sure if I am saving the old trunk boards, the only pieces of wood in the whole car that the termites didn't take a bite of. The old high grade A #1 Pine is hard to come by (no knots), but they are pretty badly warped. I will have to see how well they straiten.
