One challenge with termite infested wood is that there is often not enough of the wood left to get an accurate picture of what it was. Partially prematurely reassembling the car in advance is sometimes the only way to get the shape of the missing wood. And, attaching a side panel before the framework is there to support it has it's own set of challenges.

Once the wood parts are made I like to treat them for termites (I prefer a product called TimBor, as it is not only good it is all natural, and non toxic); then treat them again with Linseed Oil before painting them the original black. As a rule, I believe, the more care I put into a car, the better her chance in surviving another however many years. So it is worth a little extra effort to preserve some of our history.
