The first step in reparing a Bullet Hole is to locate the exit wound up and positioning the body panel so that is is stable. A Body Panel Rotisery would be ideal, but anything to secure the metal will work.

The next step is to simply, but gentaly, bend the breakout(s) back into the Bullet Hole. Care must be taken as the metal has been highly stressed and will thus break easily at this point. I use a screwdriver to wiggle the piece to atleast verticaly, just where I can get a small hammer in to tap her tye rest of the way.

My prefered hamer has a mild point on the back, as I want to chase the metal back into the mountian top that it would have streached to just before she broke.

Hamar and Anvil is the tool of trade in Bodywork. Working with rounded metal I will use the rounded side of the anvil on the inner reaius and the flat side of the anvil on the outer side of the metal, likewise with the hamers. In chasing a bulit hole I place the Anvil on the entry side and hamer the exit side down. Even so I still chase the metal to the break with harder hits forcing the metal to shrink as well as bind at the cracks.

The repared hole ready to be welded, ground and leaded.
